Bath and finish
The Signature Bathing Package
Natural shampoo and conditioning, a fluff dry and brush-out, ears and nails, the face, feet and sanitary area neatened, and a seasonal cologne to finish.
Where a bath at home usually goes wrong
A bath is easy to start and hard to finish. Shampoo hides in a double coat and itches long after the towel comes off. A coat left to air-dry sets in clumps. Ears get skipped because the dog is wriggling, and nails are left to click on the kitchen floor.
The Signature Bathing Package at Shear Bliss Pet Salon in Waterloo is built to close those gaps. Every step has a place in the order, and nothing is left for the owner to finish on the couch.

The bath, in the order it happens
The dog is washed with a premium natural shampoo and given a conditioning treatment, then a hydrating conditioning spray goes on before drying. A professional fluff dry follows, and a thorough brush-out leaves the coat even from skin to tip.
Ears are cleaned and plucked. Nails are trimmed and filed, with a buff to finish. The face, feet and sanitary area are neatened by hand, and the finish is the salon's signature seasonal cologne.
Plan on about 2 to 3 hours for a standard appointment. If you need to drop off more than 15 minutes early or stay longer, say so when you book.
Fleas, mats and the paperwork that comes first
Any dog found with fleas automatically receives a specialized flea-treatment bath, and an additional charge is added. Minor to moderate matting takes extra time and carries an additional fee. Severe matting that poses a health risk is referred to a veterinarian.
State law requires current Rabies, Distemper and Parvovirus records on file before the appointment. Email them to shearblisspet@aol.com or send a photo on Facebook Messenger. Booking itself is by phone: (319) 235-9851.
Open since October 2007 on Ansborough Ave. Call (319) 235-9851 to book.
